Legislative advocacy, the Community Reinvestment Initiative (CRI), and Cooperative Brand Advertising together make up the MCUL’s three-tiered vision for protecting credit union interests in Michigan. Through legislative advocacy the MCUL is able to effect necessary regulatory and legislative changes that favorably impact our industry; through CRI we’re able to show lawmakers and other key audiences how credit unions earn their tax exempt status; and through Cooperative Advertising we’re able to position credit unions favorably using the mass media. Each plays a key part in protecting the Credit Union Difference.
