Your participation in this year’s Hike the Hill is as important as ever. With eleven members of Michigan’s delegation signed on as co-sponsors of the Credit Union Regulatory Improvements Act, CURIA- HR 1537 (Reps Camp, Conyers, Hoekstra, Kildee, Kilpatrick, Knollenberg, Levin, McCotter, Stupak, Upton and Walberg), and credit unions poised for legislative success with the Credit Union Regulatory Relief Act, (CURRA- HR 5519) the banking lobby has stepped up their grassroots lobbying efforts against credit unions in Washington.  Any number of other important issues such as the current mortgage and foreclosure crisis, data security, identity theft and predatory lending are all make your presence at Hike the Hill tremendously important.

Michigan credit unions are known for our grassroots lobbying strength, and we need to demonstrate it now more than ever. We must not let others have the last word with the future of the credit union movement. We need to have our
strongest showing ever for this year’s Hike the Hill to show our delegation that if they support credit unions we will be there to support them!
